Kharibari, 29th May: Two women from Thailand were arrested at the Indo-Nepal border in Panitanki under Kharibari for allegedly attempting to enter Nepal using fake immigration stamps. Another person was later arrested in connection with the case.

According to reports, SSB personnel checked the documents of the two women while they were attempting to cross the border on Thursday. During verification, irregularities were noticed in the immigration stamps on their documents.

After cross-checking with the immigration department present at the border, officials reportedly found that no such stamps had been officially issued in those names.

The two women were subsequently handed over to Kharibari Police on charges of forging government immigration stamps and attempting to cross the border illegally. The arrested women have been identified as Pimchanok Ketla and Chintara Buddhafong, both residents of Thailand.

Police sources said the driver of the four-wheeler that was transporting the women towards Bhadrapur fled from the spot, raising further suspicion. However, during investigation, police later arrested the driver, identified as Kuldeep Sharma.

Police are currently searching for another individual linked to the case. Investigators are also trying to determine why fake immigration stamps were allegedly used despite the women reportedly possessing valid documents.
