Drug peddler arrested with brown sugar, banned cough syrup and cash in Panitanki, Kharibari

Kharibari, 11th June: Kharibari Police Station and Panitanki Outpost conducted a raid at a house in the Kalimandir area of Gaur Singh Jote in Panitanki near the Indo-Nepal border following allegations of drug trafficking from the residence.

During the raid, police recovered 16 bottles of banned cough syrup, 25 grams of brown sugar and cash amounting to around ₹92,000 from a bedroom of the house.

Following the recovery, police registered a case under the NDPS Act and arrested the accused.

The accused has been identified as Ratan Roy, a resident of Gaur Singh Jote in Panitanki. He was produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court.

Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
