Ghayabari, 22nd March: A vehicle traveling from Sukepokhari to Siliguri met with a tragic accident near Ghayabari, falling into a ditch from the main road. The incident resulted in the death of one person on the spot, while several others sustained critical injuries. The deceased has been identified as Tarke Lama.
Following the accident, local residents assisted in rescuing the injured and transporting them to the nearest hospital. The injured include Ganpat Prasad, Islamuddin Ansari, Nanka Alam, Furba Dukpa, Nazim Alam, and Raju Chhetri, all of whom are reported to be in critical condition.
As per reports, the driver fled the scene after the accident. The exact cause remains unclear, but eyewitnesses claim that overspeeding led to the mishap.
