Kurseong, 27th January: Member of Parliament (MP) Raju Bista has provided financial assistance amounting to ₹12 lakh to 12 families affected by the devastating natural disaster that struck North Bengal in 2025. The disaster caused widespread destruction across both the plains and hill regions, claiming several lives and leaving many families homeless.

After receiving information about the disaster, MP Raju Bista visited the affected areas and assured the victims of support, announcing compensation of ₹1.80 lakh for each affected family.

Fulfilling his commitment, he distributed the first installment of ₹1 lakh per family to 12 affected families from the stage of the ‘Karyakarta Mahasangam’ public meeting held in Kurseong.

According to sources, the remaining ₹80,000 will be provided to the families very soon.

After receiving the assistance, the beneficiary families expressed happiness and gratitude to the MP for his support. Addressing the gathering, Raju Bista stated that he had honoured his promise and would continue to stand with families affected by natural disasters.
