Theft case solved in Jalpaiguri; 3 arrested, gold jewellery worth six lakh recovered

Jalpaiguri, 23rd May: Kotwali Police in Jalpaiguri have achieved a major breakthrough in a house theft case, arresting three persons and recovering gold jewellery worth around ₹6 lakh.

According to police sources, in the last week of April, a family from Panpara area of Jalpaiguri city had gone to Siliguri for medical treatment, leaving their house vacant. Taking advantage of the situation, miscreants broke open the door and entered the house, stealing a large quantity of gold jewellery from an almirah.

After returning from Siliguri, the family discovered the theft and lodged a written complaint at Jalpaiguri Kotwali Police Station. Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation and gradually arrested three accused.

During interrogation, police recovered stolen gold jewellery worth approximately ₹6 lakh from their possession.

Police are further investigating to determine whether more individuals are involved in the incident.
