Theft at Maa Kamakhya Temple in Rajganj, gold ornaments of deity worth around ₹2.5 lakh stolen

Rajganj, 21st June: A theft was reported at the Maa Kamakhya Temple near Fatapukur Bus Stand in Rajganj, where gold ornaments adorning the deity were allegedly stolen on Sunday morning.

According to sources, the temple gates were opened at around 9 AM. Shortly thereafter, devotees and local residents noticed that the Goddess’s gold tikli and nose ring were missing.

Temple authorities estimated the value of the stolen ornaments at around ₹2.5 lakh. The incident sparked concern among devotees and residents, who gathered at the temple after news of the theft spread.

Locals expressed shock over the theft, particularly as it is believed to have occurred during the daytime. Following the incident, police from Rajganj Police Station reached the spot and launched a investigation into the matter.
