Jalpaiguri, 09th May: A decomposed body of a missing tea garden worker was recovered from the sandy riverbed of the Teesta, triggering sensation in the area. The deceased has been identified as Ratia Oraon, a worker of Bhandiguri Tea Garden in Jalpaiguri.

According to reports, Ratia Oraon had been missing since the post-election period, and despite searches by family members, no trace was found. On Saturday morning, locals who had gone to graze cattle spotted the decomposed body lying on the riverbed.

Police were immediately informed and reached the spot soon after. The body was recovered and sent for post-mortem examination. Police have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
