Storm wreaks havoc, damages over 25 houses in Pataram Jote village of Kharibari

Kharibari, 06th June: A devastating storm accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds caused widespread damage in Pataram Jote village under Kharibari on Friday night, leaving residents distressed and several families affected.

According to local sources, the severe weather uprooted multiple trees and damaged at least 25 houses across the village. In several cases, falling trees crushed tin roofs of kitchens, while the roofs of a number of homes were partially damaged.

Villagers spent the night in fear as strong winds battered the area. The storm also severely disrupted power supply, with more than 10 electricity poles reportedly collapsing, plunging the entire village into darkness.

Following the incident, administrative officials initiated relief and restoration efforts. Rescue and clean-up operations have been underway since Saturday morning, and affected families have been assured of necessary assistance.

Residents are currently awaiting further support from the administration as they assess the extent of the damage caused by the storm.
