Siliguri, 28th April – An inter-school swimming competition was successfully organized today under the initiative of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). The event, held at the Bikas Ghosh Memorial Swimming Pool, saw enthusiastic participation from students across the city.

A total of 145 competitors took part in 36 events, with participants hailing from 12 different schools in Siliguri. The competition was officially inaugurated by Siliguri Mayor Gautam Dev, who expressed his support for such initiatives, aiming to provide local students with an opportunity to showcase their swimming skills.

The event marked the first of its kind in the region, and students expressed their excitement about the competition. Many competitors and attendees remarked that such regular events would not only help improve their skills but also uncover new talent in the city.

In a statement, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation expressed plans to expand and organize such competitions on a larger scale in the future, creating more platforms for young swimmers to develop their potential.
