Jalpaiguri, 12th June: Panic gripped Jalpaiguri Central Girls’ School after a fire broke out inside a classroom, though a major incident was averted.

According to reports, smoke and flames were noticed from an electric panel installed inside a room of the school on Friday. The incident created panic among the students, following which the school administration immediately moved all students to a safe location.

The preliminary assessment suggests that the fire may have been caused due to a fault in the classroom’s electric panel or a short circuit.
