EC appoints Sanjay Mukherjee as the new DG of West Bengal

News Desk: On Tuesday, within 24 hours, the Director General (DG) of West Bengal Police was changed once again. Reportedly, the Election Commission (EC) appointed Sanjay Mukherjee as the new DG of West Bengal Police.

The EC stated that the 1989 batch IPS Officer Sanjay Mukherjee will take charge as the new DG of the state police. In this regard, the EC has issued a notification informing that Sanjay Mukherjee would take charge by the evening.

It has to be noted that Rajeev Kumar was removed from the post of DG of the state police by the National Election Commission on Monday. Subsequently, Vivek Sahay was appointed for the post. However, within 24 hours, he was replaced by Sanjay Mukherjee as the new DG of the state police.
