Rajganj, 12th June: Amid a state-wide campaign against illegal Bangladeshi nationals, 26 Bangladeshi infiltrators have been temporarily kept at the holding centre set up at Fatapukur in Rajganj. According to administrative sources, the group includes 15 women, seven children and four men.

According to sources, the infiltrators had allegedly entered India illegally around three to four years ago. After crossing through border routes, they were reportedly involved in small jobs such as rickshaw pulling and painting.

Following new government directives, illegal Bangladeshi nationals identified during the crackdown are being kept at holding centres set up in every district. As part of the process, the 26 people were brought to Fatapukur from the Islampur area in a bus.
