Bagdogra, 05th June: The Pradhan of Trinamool Congress-run Upper Bagdogra Gram Panchayat, Sanjib Sinha, has resigned after a no-confidence motion was moved against him.

According to reports, on 25 May, a no-confidence motion was jointly submitted by dissident Trinamool Congress members and Congress panchayat members seeking his removal.

In the 21-member Upper Bagdogra Gram Panchayat, the 2022 elections saw Trinamool Congress winning 11 seats, Congress 7 seats, BJP 2 seats, and Adivasi Vikas Parishad 1 seat, with Sinha becoming Pradhan after the party secured a majority.

Following the motion, Sinha submitted his resignation to the Block Development Officer, stating that his decision was taken after alleged damage to his reputation. He also denied any involvement in corruption allegations.
