Two arrested with 300 grams of brown sugar in Rajganj

Rajganj, 14th June: In a major anti-narcotics operation, Bhorer Alo police arrested two individuals and seized 300 grams of brown sugar from the Sahudangi area of Rajganj.

According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, a raid was carried out near Canal More adjacent to Sahudangi. During the operation, officers recovered approximately 300 grams of brown sugar concealed in a bag placed on a motorcycle.

The two accused, identified as Jibitesh Roy and Abdul Samad, were arrested on the spot. Both are residents of the Majhiali Gram Panchayat area.

Police also seized the motorcycle allegedly used for transporting the contraband. The market value of the recovered brown sugar is estimated to be worth several lakh rupees.

The accused were produced before the Jalpaiguri District Court on Sunday. Further investigation into the case is underway.
