Three youths arrested hours after snatching iPhone and cash in Siliguri

Siliguri, 13th June: Three youths were arrested by Matigara Police within hours of allegedly snatching an iPhone and cash from two bikers in the Chadmuni area of Siliguri.

The arrested accused have been identified as Santosh Rajbhar (18), Kokil Roy (20) and Nihal Mahato (18). Police have recovered the stolen iPhone from their possession, though the cash is yet to be recovered.

According to reports, two youths from Ambari were returning home on a motorcycle late on the night of June 11. At around 2:50 am, three youths riding a scooter allegedly intercepted them in the Chadmuni area.

The accused allegedly snatched a costly iPhone and around ₹10,000 in cash before fleeing the spot.

Following the incident, one of the victims lodged a written complaint at Matigara Police Station. Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation with the help of confidential sources.

In a swift operation, police arrested all three accused from the Matigara area within a few hours of the incident.

The accused were produced before the Siliguri court on Saturday, while further investigation into the case is underway.
