Siliguri, 13th June: A tree plantation programme was organised at ‘Apna Ghar’ old age home near Kawakhali through the initiative of North Bengal Frontier Headquarters SSB Ranidanga and Siliguri Unique Foundation, with support from Lions Club of Siliguri.

SSB personnel planted saplings along with the elderly residents of the old age home. Around 100 saplings were planted in the premises and surrounding areas.

The programme was attended by SSB DIG, environmentalist Sujit Raha, Dr Vidyawati Agrawal, and social worker Sonadevi Barma from the North Bengal Third Gender Board, along with other dignitaries.

Speakers highlighted the importance of tree plantation in environmental conservation and called for building a green environment for future generations.
