‘Pushpa’ arrested: West Bengal STF nabs Jahangir Khan near Indo-Nepal border in Panitanki

Panitanki, 08th June: West Bengal STF arrested Jahangir Khan, popularly known as ‘Pushpa’ and a former Trinamool Congress candidate from the Falta Assembly constituency, during an operation near the Indo-Nepal border at Panitanki on Monday morning.

According to sources, Khan had been missing for a long period and was under the watch of investigating agencies. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the STF, with assistance from Nepal Police, conducted an operation in areas adjoining the Indo-Nepal border and apprehended him.

Following the arrest, Khan was brought into India through the Panitanki border. Sources said he is being taken to Kolkata under tight security.

Officials consider the arrest a significant breakthrough, as Khan had allegedly remained out of reach of investigating agencies for an extended period.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
