Siliguri, 14th June: A memorandum demanding stronger action against the drug menace was submitted at Pradhannagar Police Station in Siliguri on Sunday amid growing concerns over narcotics abuse in the area.

The memorandum was submitted by members of the Natun Bazar Matri Shakti Sangathan, who urged the police administration to take stringent measures to eradicate the illegal drug trade and protect the younger generation from addiction.

According to local residents, open consumption of narcotics in parts of Natun Bazar under the jurisdiction of Pradhannagar Police Station has become a matter of serious concern. They alleged that an increasing number of youths are falling prey to addiction, adversely affecting both their future and the social environment of the locality.
