‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ tree plantation drive held on World Environment Day in Phansidewa

Phansidewa, 05th June: World Environment Day was observed with great enthusiasm at Phansidewa High School through a tree plantation programme conducted under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, in collaboration with the Ghoshpukur Range of the Kurseong Forest Division.

The programme was attended by MLA Durga Murmu, Phansidewa BDO Banani Majumdar, ADFO Kurseong Rahul Dev Mukherjee, along with teachers and a large number of students of the school.

During the event, participants were encouraged to understand the importance of tree plantation for environmental protection and the need for continuous plantation activities across different regions.

The MLA stated that trees should not only be planted but also cared for like a mother, in order to achieve the true objective of environmental conservation.
