West Bengal Assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose attends blood donation and free health camp at Muraliganj High School in Phansidewa

Siliguri, 13th August: A voluntary blood donation camp and free health camp were organised at Muraliganj High School in Phansidewa ahead of Independence Day. West Bengal Legislative Assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose attended the programme.

The Speaker was welcomed with the beats of dhamsa and madal during the event. He also inaugurated a classroom at the school.

Speaking at the programme, Rathindra Bose said he would take the school’s teachers and 50 students to the state Assembly to showcase the reputation and achievements of Muraliganj High School before a wider audience across the state.

He said students are the future of the country and there is much to learn from the school. According to him, the school will play an important role in building a developed West Bengal.

Bose described the state Assembly as the ‘temple of democracy’ and said everyone should have an understanding of the functioning of the Assembly. He added that the more people participate in democracy, the stronger democracy will become.
