Siliguri, 14th June: Political tension resurfaced in Siliguri after a BJP flag was allegedly torn in the Dhaknikata area under Pradhan Nagar police station limits.

According to reports, a torn BJP flag was discovered inside the residence of a BJP worker on Sunday morning, while a Trinamool Congress flag was found displayed at the entrance of the house. The incident triggered unrest in the locality, prompting BJP supporters to gather at the spot and inform the police.

Police personnel from Pradhan Nagar Police Station reached the location, recorded the scene, and initiated an investigation into the matter. A written complaint has also been lodged by the BJP regarding the incident.

Manna Bhadro, a BJP leader from Siliguri, alleged that certain Trinamool Congress workers had been targeting BJP flags and supporters in the area even before the elections. He claimed that the situation has continued despite the change in power and demanded strict action against those responsible.

Police have begun investigating the allegations and are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
