Darjeeling, 05th June: A tree plantation and environmental awareness programme was organised near Tiger Hill under the Jorebungalow Police Station area on the occasion of World Environment Day. The programme saw active participation from police personnel, including SI Biswanath Paul, ASI Binod Bhujel and others from the police station.

As part of the initiative, saplings were planted to promote environmental conservation, increase green cover and raise awareness about protecting nature for future generations. The participants also engaged with local residents to spread awareness on environmental protection and sustainable practices.

The organisers said the programme aimed to encourage public participation in maintaining ecological balance and strengthening environmental sustainability.
