SMC distributes relief supplies among flood victims in Sevoke Bazaar

Siliguri, 10th October: In a commendable initiative to support the flood victims, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) distributed relief supplies in the Sevoke Bazar area. The initiative witnessed the presence of Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Municipal Commissioner Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, Member of Mayor-Council (MMIC), and the Borough Chairperson.

According to reports, the Sikkim natural disasters have had an impact on a large number of people along the Teesta River. The areas surrounding the river bank were inhabited by several people who had been displaced from their homes. Numerous people have sought refuge in relief camps.

On Tuesday, the SMC led by Mayor Goutam Deb distributed several necessary supplies to the flood-inflicted residents in Sevoke Bazar. In addition to food items, the victims were provided with emergency medications.
