Siliguri, 14th May: Srayashi Shil, a student of Siliguri Girls’ High School, brought pride to the city by securing 8th rank in the Higher Secondary examination. A student of the Arts stream, she scored a total of 489 marks in the examination.

Srayashi is a resident of the Ektiasal area of Siliguri. Her father runs a grocery shop in front of their house, while her mother is a primary school teacher. Happiness spread across the family and the locality after her name appeared in the merit list on Thursday.

Due to the long distance between her home and school, daily travel was not easy for Srayashi. She often had to travel long distances by e-rickshaw (toto), and at times the distance even made attending school difficult. Despite these challenges, she managed to achieve remarkable success.

Srayashi now wishes to pursue higher studies in Geography and dreams of securing a government job in the future. She credited her parents, school teachers and private tutor for her achievement. Her success has filled both her family and local residents with pride.
