Siliguri, 18th December: The Siliguri Marathon 2026 is scheduled for 25th January, organised jointly by Siliguri College and the Siliguri Marathon Committee. The event details were announced at a press conference held at Siliguri College on Thursday by Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb.

The press meet was attended by Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, representatives of Siliguri College, and members of the Siliguri Marathon Committee. This year’s marathon will feature three categories: Half Marathon, Dream Run, and Special Child Run.

The Half Marathon will have an entry fee of Rs 200 and cover a distance of 21.1 kilometres. Only male participants aged 18 and above can compete in this category. The race will start from Siliguri College grounds and pass through Venus More, Sevoke More, Mallaguri More, Champasari More, Checkpost, Eastern Bypass, Fuleswari More, Agrani Sangha, and Gopal More before finishing at Tarai School grounds.

Cash prizes for this category include Rs 1 lakh for first place, Rs 50,000 for second, Rs 25,000 for third, Rs 15,000 for fourth, and Rs 10,000 for fifth, while participants finishing sixth to tenth will each receive Rs 5,000.

The Dream Run is open to participants aged 12 and above, with an entry fee of Rs 20. The race route will start from Siliguri College, passing through Venus More Flyover, NTS More, and Dadabhai More, ending at Tarai School grounds. Five cash prizes will be awarded in this category.

The Special Child Run will begin and end at Siliguri College grounds. Ten participants in this category will receive cash prizes.

Organisers stated that a total of Rs 2,50,500 in cash prizes will be awarded across all categories. The main aim of the Siliguri Marathon 2026 is to encourage city residents to participate in sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.
