Minister of State Anandamay Barman receives grand welcome on return to Siliguri

Siliguri, 04th June: Newly appointed Minister of State Anandamay Barman returned to Siliguri on Thursday after taking oath of office and was accorded a warm welcome by BJP workers and supporters at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station.

A large number of party workers and supporters gathered at the station to greet the minister upon his arrival by train. Phansidewa MLA Durga Murmu was also present to welcome him. People from different communities joined the reception programme.

Amid the beating of drums and festive celebrations, Anandamay Barman was felicitated before leaving for his residence in an open vehicle.

Speaking at NJP station, the minister thanked party workers and supporters for the warm reception. He also expressed gratitude to the party leadership and the Chief Minister for entrusting him with the responsibility of Minister of State.

Commenting on politics, Barman claimed that the Trinamool Congress would eventually become fragmented and lose its political relevance.

On the development of North Bengal, he said that years of deprivation would come to an end and that the region would move further ahead on the path of development in the coming days.
