Darjeeling, 08th June: West Bengal Urban Development Minister Agnimitra Paul visited Darjeeling and Mirik on Monday along with MP Raju Bista, where she inspected multiple ongoing development projects in the hill region.

During her visit in Darjeeling, the minister reviewed key infrastructure works including water supply projects, drinking water distribution systems, and various civic service-related developments. She also inspected a newly constructed lake being developed for water conservation purposes.

The minister interacted with local residents, who raised several issues related to drinking water and other civic services. She assured them that steps would be taken for swift resolution of the problems.

Later, she visited Mirik and reviewed the local situation, where she was also greeted by residents.

Agnimitra Paul stated that efforts are underway to resolve drinking water issues in the Darjeeling hills on a priority basis. She also warned that any illegal construction or unauthorized multi-storey buildings in the hill areas will be identified, issued notices, and demolished if found violating regulations.
