GTA chief Anit Thapa arranges school buses for flood-inflicted students in Kalimpong

Kalimpong, 09th October: In an effort to restore normalcy, students of Kalimpong have begun attending classes after the natural calamity. It should be mentioned that the Melli area of Kalimpong experienced significant destruction due to the flash flood in Teesta River. As a result, parents in Kalimpong were terrified to send their children to school.

According to reports, Gorkhaland Territorial Adminsitration (GTA) Chief Anit Thapa set up a number of trucks to transport the students to school. In this regard, the GTA Chief emphasised that assistance will be provided till things returned to normal.

Notably, the GTA supremo has regularly visited the impacted areas since the devastating floods. He has been visiting the relief camps in addition to interacting with the victims. Apart from providing relief supplies to the residents, the work of building houses has also commenced.
