Mirik, 13th July: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista celebrated Bhanu Jayanti by joining the people of Mirik and the Gorkha United Alliance partners to acknowledge the significant victory achieved by the BJP and the Alliance in both the Panchayat and Panchayat Samiti elections. While expressing gratitude for the support and trust of the people of Mirik, Bista assured them that all commitments made to the community would be fulfilled within the stipulated time frame. Despite setbacks in some areas, Bista emphasized that the victories of the Alliance had been decisive, with losses occurring by narrow margins.

The MP alleged the use of money, administrative power, coercion, and threats by rival parties to influence opposition candidates and manipulate the political landscape. Looking ahead, Bista announced plans to organize training sessions for all Panchayat members in order to equip them with the necessary knowledge of their roles, responsibilities, and administrative tools. The aim is to ensure that the benefits of various schemes, programs, and policies reach the people in a transparent, corruption-free manner.

Bista called upon all elected members to prioritize the welfare of citizens over party affiliations and promised to provide the required financial and administrative support for development projects in every village of the hills and terai. During the celebration, Bista was accompanied by Alliance party leaders, including R.B Rai of CPRM, Ajoy Edwards of Hamro Party, Rishi Thapa of GNLF, Noman Rai of GJM, as well as other BJP and Alliance party leaders and workers.
