Naxalbari, 11th December: The Chief Minister virtually laid the foundation for the fourth phase of the Pathshree road construction project across the state. From an official event in Krishnanagar on Thursday, the CM inaugurated the road works under the project.
In Darjeeling district, a total of 155 roads, covering both rural and urban areas, will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹110 crore. Following the virtual foundation ceremony in Naxalbari, the District Magistrate Manish Mishra, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, and Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh flagged off the works in the district.
The District Magistrate stated that 21 roads will be constructed in rural areas, 34 in the hills, and 100 in municipal areas. A dedicated team has been formed to ensure the quality of construction. Once completed, these roads are expected to address the transportation issues faced by local residents.
